Fortunately for us, the humans,, when we chance to reflect on our existence from much earlier times to the present, we feel in a stronger, more sophisticated state than all our forebears—human and otherwise. Simply look about you and see the advantages of being human in the 21st century.
We have certainly learned a great deal overall.
As a cautionary note I would add: not enough heart-felt learning about the inter-connectedness of all humanity (painfully illustrated and reiterated by covid 19), and frighteningly a very sketchy world-wide grasp of the simple fact that we, also, are natural.
As with the stress the entire planet undergoes in the anthropocene era,1 we humans too, are under threat.
